University of South California’s huge Biblical collection

The Hollings Special Collections Library at the University of South California has many old and rare collections including the original English translation of the bible viz. King James Bible dated 1611. The King James Bible is the best selling version of the Bible, which itself is the bestselling book of all times.

The library charts the history of biblical translations beginning with John Wycliffe and William Tyndale the Protestant reformers through the 16th century English translations of Puritans and the Catholic Church. The exhibit also displays the impact of the King James Bible on America which nearly every American President has laid his hands on while taking oath.
