Hindi translation of popular English novel released

Popular English novel ‘Paro: Dreams of Passion’ written by Namita Gokhale has been translated into Hindi by Rachna Bhola Yamini and published by Full Circle and Hind Pocket books. The original novel had created a stir among Indian audience after its release in 1984 due to its explicit sexual humor. It had received extreme criticism as well as praise in equal measure then.

The novel had marked the arrival of ‘Hinglish’ which is a mixture of Hindi and English and is very popular among Hindi speaking population in India today. According to Ghazala Amin who read excerpts from the translated version during its release last week at India Habitat Centre in New Delhi the book had maintained the character and flow of the original novel very well.
