Google updates eBooks with more features

Google which introduced its commercial digital book service Google eBooks last December with access to over 3 million titles (with 2 million free) has newly added features that let users find definitions; search and translate words.

Users can look up words in the digital page they are reading through Google’s Web Reader that they are unfamiliar with, translate if necessary and search for equivalent words all while staying within the page. When the required word or phrase is highlighted and double clicked, a popup menu appears that lets user choose among definition, translate, search through Google or search in Wikipedia.

The translate option gives users the choice to translate a single word or several sentences into a no. of languages through the pop window. There is even an audio option that pronounces the definition aloud. For more information on the topic please visit
