Fourth IATIS conference calls for papers

The Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland will host the 4th International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies (IATIS) conference from July 24th to 27th next year. Interested participants can submit abstracts of papers on the broad subject of translation, interpretation and intercultural studies before 19th September 2011.

The theme of the conference is ‘Translation and the Politics of Recognition’ and covers diverse topics such as translation / interpreting – its ethics and politics, its role in conflict resolution and covert censorship, role of translator / interpreter as cultural broker in multicultural interactions, apart from topics related to intercultural relations and politics.
