Air Canada loses £8k because its staffers did not speak in French!

A federal court ordered Air Canada to pay Michel and Lynda Thibodeau £7,850 in damages on a complaint filed by them that the airline staffers did not greet them in French when they checked at the airport in Ottawa, the Canadian capital. As per Official Language Act of Canada the national airline must provide service in both English and French.

Despite knowing English, the couple sued the airline £350,000 for breach of their rights to be served in their mother tongue.
