The European Telecommunications Standard Institute (ETSI) has set up an Industry Specification Group (ISG) for developing Localization Industry Standards (LIS). The ISG will develop specifications for information exchange for the machine assisted translation industry including Translation Memory eXchange (TMX) and Segmentation Rules eXchange (SRX) based on the XML language.

The ISG is expected to replace LISA, the Localization Industry Standards Association that was closed recently. LISA members like Alcatel Lucent, IBM, Lionbridge, Dell, and WhP Intl are expected to assist the ISG. The ISG is scheduled to meet for the first time on August 18th at ETSI based in France.
